Fenestration Canada, an association that supports fenestration industry stakeholders across Canada, was honored with a commemorative plaque from Habitat for Humanity Canada last month, recognizing the association’s support of the nonprofit.

“As an association, we feel that it is necessary to support an important cause that empowers families through housing, such as Habitat for Humanity Canada,” said Stéphane Labelle, Fenestration Canada’s executive director.

Started in 1976, Habitat for Humanity is an international nonprofit housing organization. Habitat for Humanity Canada was launched nine years later, with the first Canadian Habitat home being built in 1985. With the help of volunteers and Habitat homeowners, local chapters in every province and territory help build and rehabilitate safe, decent and affordable homes, officials say, including single-family and multi-unit housing. The organization’s model of affordable homeownership is designed to bridge gaps for low-income working families, by providing them with the opportunity to purchase their own homes and build better lives.
