Officials for the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) recently announced the appointment of David Pekel as the association’s Chief Executive Officer. As principal and former president of Pekel Construction and Remodeling Inc., a design build firm located in Wauwatosa, Wis., and a 30-year veteran of the remodeling industry, Pekel, “brings a wealth of knowledge and deep understanding of what it takes to build a remodeling business from the ground up,” NARI officials suggest.

“This is a pivotal time in NARI’s history,” says NARI Board Chair Tom Miller. “Along with the NARI Board of Directors, I am excited about having a CEO who is a long-standing member of the remodeling industry leading the charge. We’re confident that David’s vision for the future will usher in the next chapter of NARI’s history.”

Pekel joined NARI’s Milwaukee chapter in 1995 and has served in many volunteer positions over the years, including as president and Board Chair. Most recently he served as NARI national’s board president, and served as interim CEO over the last seven months.

“I’ve always enjoyed being part of NARI’s volunteer leadership, but in serving as the Interim CEO, I have new-found appreciation for the tremendous opportunity that lies ahead for NARI,” Pekel says. “By introducing technology and innovation, while developing a future-focused plan, NARI has the ability to deliver more member value and attract the next generation of remodelers to the organization.”
