YKK AP America recently announced that it has opened a new manufacturing facility in Cincinnati, where 100,000 square feet of new space will increase local production capabilities, allowing for more finished goods inventory, company officials suggest. Managed by company veteran Thomas Belmont, the new center serves as a U.S. distribution post for customers serviced from the company’s Chicago and Cincinnati branches.

“The opening of a manufacturing facility in the heart of the Midwest will enable us to better serve and respond to customers in the Midwest region by offering them more commercial facade systems closer to home,” says Oliver Stepe, president of YKK AP America Inc.

The new center will be dedicated to production, distribution and logistics. The company’s Cincinnati branch, now collocated at the new facility, will continue to focus on customer service, estimating and other support services. Glenn Smith remains general manager of the region with responsibility for the Cincinnati and Chicago branches.
