Parkersburg, W.Va.-based Wincore Window Company LLC recently announced plans to expand to a new manufacturing facility in Swainsboro, Ga. The company plans to invest $6.5 million in the facility, generating 150 new jobs in the area.

According to Wincore president, Clark Davis, the expansion has been in the works for more than a year, and credits the company’s service approach and steady growth to its recent success.

“Our success as not necessarily been product related, but more so service related and the way we approach our customers,” says Davis. “We have, over the last 5-plus years, added a leading impact product line, a leading fiberglass entry door division, laminate and other enhancements, but again it is our approach to partnering with and servicing our customers that has led to Wincore’s growth.”

“We looked at several regions in the southeast and very quickly decided that Swainsboro was an extremely good fit for Wincore’s strategic expansion plans,” adds Davis. “Based on early discussions with Ken Warnock at the Emanuel County Economic Development Authority (Emanuel County EDA) and Ryan Waldrep at the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD), Wincore’s management and ownership believed the new plant would have tremendous support from both the county and the state. Those early interactions proved to be correct as the county and the state have been incredibly flexible in structuring programs that will allow Wincore to succeed.”

Gov. Nathan Deal announced the news on October 23, 2018, expressing the great opportunity for both Wincore and the area.

“Our highly skilled workforce, proximity to the southeastern market and unmatched logistics infrastructure continue to attract industry-leading manufacturers like Wincore Window Company to Georgia,” said Gov. Deal.

Wincore claims 340 employees nationwide, and plans to begin operations in April of 2019 in a pre-existing 75,000-square-foot facility.

“The new facility will certainly result in some opportunities for [the] current Wincore team members,” says Davis. “We have had a history of promoting from within and we will look to continue with that approach…The expansion will allow the company to continue to service our customers at the level they are accustomed to.  We truly appreciate the confidence that our customers have in Wincore and we will continue to push ourselves to be the easiest company for them to work with.”
