U.K.-based Uniglass Southern Regional sales manager George Stirling is retiring after 45 years in the glass industry.

He joined Pilkington at the age of 19 and worked his way through to sales management. He held a variety of senior roles at both major manufacturers and processors before joining Uniglass.

Stirling will be succeeded by Tony Brentnall, former regional manager for Guardian. At Guardian, Brentnall was responsible for all U.K. sales of float, coated and laminated glasses.

“We are naturally sad to see George leave and it has been great to work with him over the last two years,” said Uniglass managing director David Stoker. “However, we look forward to welcoming Tony to the team and have no doubt that his experience in the glass industry will assist him in providing enhanced customer service and creating strong business relationships. I am sure he will be a very successful member of our company.”
