Jeld-Wen has appointed William Banholzer, Ph.D., to its board of directors. Banholzer will also serve as a member of the compensation committee of the board.

After a 30-year career in industrial research, Banholzer retired from Dow Chemical, where he served most recently as executive vice president. In this role, he led Dow’s venture capital, licensing and new-business-development activities. He also served as Dow’s chief technology officer. Prior to his time at Dow Chemical, Banholzer had a 22-year career with General Electric, where he held positions of increasing authority including leading global technology for GE Advanced Materials. He is a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt, holds 16 U.S. patents and has more than 90 publications.

Banholzer is currently a research professor at the University of Wisconsin with appointments in the Chemical and Biological Engineering Department, Chemistry Department, Wisconsin Energy Institute, and the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery.
