On Wednesday, three-time Grammy winner and Ply Gem Home for Good project ambassador Darius Rucker, along with Ply Gem and Habitat for Humanity, held a dedication ceremony in downtown Nashville to present the keys to new homeowners.

Now in its second year, Home for Good is a partnership with Ply Gem and Habitat. A multi-year initiative, the program aims to educate and raise awareness about the affordable housing issue and help those in need. It includes a donation of over $1 million of exterior building products and funds to support Habitat’s vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to call home.

As part of the Home for Good project, Ply Gem is the presenting sponsor of Habitat for Humanity’s Home Builders Blitz, a week-long campaign (June 5-9),in which Ply Gem, Habitat,  Rucker and professional homebuilders will donate their time, muscle and talent to help Habitat raise awareness of the need for affordable housing.

“Ever since I was a young child, having a home and being safe has always been something sacred and special to me,” said Rucker. “I know how important this issue is, and being part of Ply Gem’s Home for Good project allows me to give back and give a home to so many who need it, on a national scale.”

The dedication ceremony in downtown Nashville was held across from Music City Center, and Gary E. Robinette, Ply Gem’s CEO, presented the keys along with Rucker.

A smaller dedication ceremony held in Murfreesboro, Tenn., was held later this afternoon.
