Hardware maker Hager Companies has promoted Robert Wilkins to vice president of marketing and product development. Wilkins, who had previously served as the director of marketing and product development with the company, took on the new role effective January 1.

Wilkins will play a larger role with Hager’s long-term strategic planning. He will also provide a greater focus on operational excellence and service level improvements across the organization.

“Bob’s dedication to introducing new products to fit the emerging needs of our customers and the industry as a whole has been a critical part of Hager’s organic growth this past decade,” said William Shockley, group vice president of sales and marketing for Hager Companies. “He is the unanimous choice to take over this role and we look forward to expanding our product offerings in 2017 and beyond.”

Wilkins began his career with WAN Technologies in 2001 as a marketing manager. He joined Hager Companies in May 2005 as a product manager, where he managed multiple product lines and was responsible for pricing, promotion and new product development. Wilkins was promoted to Manager of Marketing and Product Development for Hager in July 2011 and took over as director for the group in December 2012.

“It’s an honor to work for a company whose strategy has always been and will continue to be providing our customers with the highest level of service with the right products to help their business succeed,” noted Wilkins.
