Harvey Building Products, based in Waltham, Mass., has acquired Soft-Lite Windows, headquartered in Streetsboro, Ohio. Both companies manufacture windows, while Harvey also distributes siding, roofing, decking and many other building materials.

“We are very excited about our purchase of Soft- Lite,” said Jim Barreira, CEO of Harvey Building Products. “The company is well run and financially strong, and we admire their products and reputation. It has been clear throughout the acquisition process that they value product quality and service as much as we do. And perhaps most importantly, our business models complement one another, helping us to win in different market segments.”

Harvey has  thousands of contractor and builder customers in the Northeast, while Soft-Lite distributes its products to several hundred window dealers across the U.S.

“We are pleased to be acquired by Harvey,” said Roy Anderson, president of Soft-Lite Windows. “Soft- Lite is a world class window manufacturer, and has built strong relationships with some of the best dealers in the country. Being part of a company with much larger scale and scope will bring tremendous opportunity to the customers and markets we have developed.”

Soft-Lite’s windows are sold throughout much of the United States. Soft-Lite primarily sells direct, and specializes in large, private-label window dealers.

Founded in 1961, Harvey sells directly to contractors, builders, general contractors and other building industry professionals. The company has approximately 1,500 employees and operates two manufacturing facilities, 35 warehouse distribution centers and 14 product showrooms that are open to the public.
