Vi-Lux Building Products Inc., a Canadian manufacturer of door components, PVC mouldings and trim, was recently awarded Florida Building Code approval for its composite door jambs, which can now be used in the state’s High Velocity Hurricane Zone, specifically Miami Dade County.

Miami Dade County codes are the strictest in the nation, requiring a higher standard for performance of products, materials and systems of construction. This is the first time Vi-Lux has applied for approval in Florida.

“We are thrilled that our door jambs are now Miami Dade County and Florida Building Code approved products,” said Arkadi Bykhovsky, Vi-Lux president and CEO. “The approval of our door jambs provides customers the confidence to use our product even in the most extreme climate conditions.”
