Huttig Building Products Inc. has appointed Marco Oropeza the general manager for its Dallas branch.

“We are excited to have Marco as part of the Huttig team,” says Rick Richardson, regional vice president for Huttig. “His experience will energize our operations in Dallas and across the entire Texas market, which is critically important to the growth and success of our company.”

Oropeza has more than 30 years of experience in the industrial, business-to-business environment in different sectors including power, automotive, electronics and material handling. His experience spans over 25 years of working around the globe with Siemens and most recently, as president and CEO of Portec Group International. After selling Portec to Interroll Group, he served as vice president of business development with global responsibilities.

Oropeza is a board member of the International Association of Baggage System Companies (IABSC) and serves as the chair of their safety committee. He has a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a master’s degree in business administration in global management. He also has volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and Special Olympics through the Knights of Columbus.
