Wincore Windows and Doors, based in Parkersburg, W.Va., plans to undergo a $1.6 million expansion and hire 50 new employees in the coming months, according to a report in the Parkersburg News and Sentinel.

“We’re growing,” Wincore COO Mike Scarberry told the Wood County Commission on Monday night. “Our volume has grown and we have gone from having a day shift to adding a night shift and we will continue to add to it. The equipment will help us to take volume up and help with the expediency of the delivery of the product.”

According to Scarberry, the expansion is needed because Wincore will start selling hurricane-impact windows in markets along the Gulf Coast and the Carolinas. To do that, it will need to expand its staff and purchase at least seven pieces of equipment, he told the newspaper.

Wincore, which opened in 2007, manufactures vinyl windows and doors for both replacement and new construction.
