Groupe Eugénie, a Quebec-based manufacturer and importer of door and door jamb machinery, has purchased a new 60,000-square-foot headquarters facility following an investment of more than $4.5 million.

The announcement comes about a year after the company opened a 12,500-square-foot showroom near Montreal in July 2015. The company says that freed up space in the Eugénie plant, allowing for an increase in production capacity.

Groupe Eugénie has grown by over 50 percent in just eight months, the company says.  It currently has 52 employees, but it plans to double that number within the next two years. In addition, as part of its worldwide expansion, Groupe Eugénie also intends to increase the volume of its offered machinery inventory as well as provide a wider selection.

According to Groupe Eugénie president Richard Chauvette, the acquisition of the showroom provided the perfect transition for the company as it took over the new building.

“We knew it was inevitable, given the growth of the company, that the acquisition of a new headquarters was imminent,” he said.  “The showroom was thus inaugurated in 2015, and less than a year later, we are about to settle into our new offices.”

The company expects to be in the new building by the fall of 2016.

“About 85 percent of our customers come from United States and by 2023, we want to adapt our machinery to conquer Europe,” Chauvette said. “The priority is to build strong, long-term relationships with each of our customers. In this context, we continuously have the opportunity to work together and find out what we can add to our product lines to remain at the forefront of each of their evolving needs.”
