The surging demand for green construction products around the world should be good news for window manufacturers.

The global energy efficient windows market is projected to reach $480 billion by 2023 with a compounded annual growth rate of 9.71 percent from 2015 to 2023, according to a new report from Transparency Market Research of Albany, N.Y.

The report breaks down the energy-efficient windows market by type of glazing and geography. Based on glazing type, the market has been segmented into double glazing windows and triple low-e glazing windows. The double glazing windows segment held the largest share of the energy efficient windows market, by glazing type, in 2014.

From a geographical perspective, the global energy efficient windows  market was dominated by North America in 2014, thanks to the regional proximity of top players and a strong base of knowledgeable, well-off consumers. In the near future, nations such as India and China are expected to become bigger players in the global energy efficient windows market due to rapid commercialization, supportive regulatory policies, and the limitations put on the use of conventional energy resources.
