It might be the hectic holiday season, but that hasn’t slowed down my quest to earn a FenestrationAssociate certificate.

Earlier this month, I wrote about my first dive into the professional certification program. A couple of weeks ago, I updated you on Round 2.

I’ve moved on to the third group of courses. Here, the focus is on hardware, weatherstripping, weatherseals, sealants and adhesives. They may not be the most visible parts of a door or window, but they’re vitally important for performance and energy efficiency.

Like my previous studies, the coursework was informative, and it definitely helped me learn more about the industry I cover.

So what is the FenestrationAssociate course? It’s an educational program from the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA). The coursework provides a comprehensive overview of doors, windows and related components — how they’re made, how they function and the performance standards they have to meet. So far, more than 50 industry professionals have finished the course.

FenestrationAssociate is a great professional certification that will help your career — and your company.  It could also be the first step toward the FenestrationMasters program, an advanced certification for seasoned industry professionals.

So what are you waiting for? Sign up today and start learning more about our industry.
