The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will be considering a new Energy Star specification for exterior and interior storm panels, also known as storm windows. Interested parties are encouraged to participate in the specification development process and provide feedback.

The first step will be the release of a framework document by EPA. In the document, EPA will propose a structure for an Energy Star specification for the category, as well as a process for how EPA will evaluate the feasibility, energy savings and cost-effectiveness of the specification. EPA will pose questions and seek input from the stakeholder community, but will not propose specific performance criteria at this time. EPA plans to release the framework document in early January 2016.

To receive e-mails with updates and announcements during this process, please email to be added to a separate distribution list for exterior and interior storm panels.

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
