Jeld-Wen has appointed Mark A. Beck as the company’s president and chief executive officer, effective November 30.

Kirk Hachigian, who is currently in these roles, will continue as executive chairman of the board. Hachigian and Beck will work closely together into the new year to facilitate a smooth management transition.

Beck joins Jeld-Wen from Danaher Corporation, where he has been executive vice president of the water quality and dental platforms since early 2014. Previously, Beck spent 18 years with Corning Incorporated in a series of management positions with increasing responsibility, including his most recent appointment as executive vice president of Corning’s environmental technologies and life science units. Earlier in his career, Beck spent eight years in the residential construction industry. He holds an undergraduate degree in business management from Pacific University and a masters of business administration from Harvard University.

“I am extremely pleased that Mark is joining the Jeld-Wen leadership team. His extensive experience leading global organizations and achieving strategic growth is a perfect fit for Jeld-Wen,” said  Hachigian. “Mark has demonstrated the ability to develop innovative products by applying advanced technological solutions. He is a natural leader who will establish effective relationships both inside the organization and across the building products industry.”

Beck joins several other executives who have recently been appointed to global leadership roles at Jeld-Wen, including John Dinger, executive vice president and president-North America; Peter Maxwell, executive vice President and president-Europe; and Peter Farmakis, executive vice president and president Australia-Asia.
