Weather Shield Windows & Doors has promoted Chris Schield from director of product marketing to vice president of marketing.

Schield brings 12 years of product development, brand management and channel management experience in the building products industry to his new role. He will oversee all of the company’s marketing functions, including product initiatives, dealer communications, advertising, trade show exhibitions, marketing communications and digital communications.

“Chris has a proven aptitude for sound decision making, successfully collaborating with and leading others, and investing company resources to advance the company’s competitive position in the market,” said Mark Schield, president of Weather Shield. “The breadth of experience Chris brings to his new role will serve him, his employees and Weather Shield well.”

As director of product marketing, Schield managed the company’s existing product portfolio and led new-product development initiatives. He also evaluated and implemented new channel opportunities. Previously, he was a channel manager for Kohler Company, where he was instrumental in the product development process for the retail faucet organization. While at Kohler, he helped the company double its faucet sales at Home Depot.

Schield holds bachelor’s degrees in management and finance and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.

Schield takes over responsibilities from both Jeff Kibler, now manager of architectural and commercial solutions, and vice president of sales Todd Hallstrand, who was previously vice president of sales and marketing.
