Atis Group is switching hands from one investment group to another.

Cleveland-based
Cyprium Partners has sold the Canadian door and window manufacturer to a Quebec-based investment group led by Fonds de solidarite FTQ, Capital regional et cooperative Desjardins and Fondaction CSN.

Atis, headquartered in Longueuil, Quebec, has nine manufacturing facilities and more than 1,400 employees across Canada. The company’s products are sold under various brand names, including LaFlamme, Vinylbilt, Solarcan, Vimat, Supervision, Melco, Allsco, Phoenix Glass and Altek.
Since 2004, under Cyprium, Atis has made seven add–on acquisitions which allowed it to consolidate its leading position in Eastern Canada and expand its operations in the western provinces of Canada.

Regarding Cyprium’s more than 10-year history with Atis, Leland Lewis, managing partner, says, “It has been a pleasure … Atis has grown from its relatively modest Quebec roots into a national player with innovative, high-quality products that are designed to satisfy the tastes of each of its local markets. I expect further dynamic growth from Atis over the next decade.”

Atis president and CEO Robert Doyon says the deal “couldn’t come at a better time” for the company. “Our recently launched five-year strategic growth plan is moving ahead full steam, with three acquisitions in the last six months,” he says. “Our new investors know the manufacturing industry very well and their expertise will allow us to optimize our growth. There are some excellent opportunities out there that we will now be able to seize thanks to them.”

Financial terms of the agreement weren’t announced.
