Andersen Corp. is expanding its logistic operations by taking over a consolidation center in Menomonie, Wisc., from a third-party logistics provider.

The move will add more than 300 employees to the door and window product manufacturer’s ranks.

“Andersen has transformed our logistics business over the last 15 years,” says Sal Abbate, chief sales and marketing officer. “As our business grows, so does our commitment to our customers. This change brings us that much closer to them, which we see as an opportunity to enhance our anticipation and responsiveness to their needs.”

Abbate says this change is the “next logical step” in the logistics of the company. “It makes sense to directly own the entire process from manufacturing to customer delivery,” she says.

The Menomonie consolidation center is the largest of the company’s 14 logistics locations. Andersen will assume operations on or around May 6, according to a company statement.
