One of the product categories found in abundance on the show floor is sliding doors. LaCantina Doors featured its new Contemporary Clad System for its folding, multi-slide and swing door systems.

This new material option features a 2 15/16-inch narrow stile and rail profile to maximize glass and light. With 2 ¼-inch-thick panels made of LVL core construction and extruded aluminum, the Contemporary Clad System provides greater thermal performance to meet higher energy code demands, improved structural integrity and low maintenance exteriors.

The company adds that the product can be utilized to complement any aluminum or clad window package while providing superior thermal performance.

Panda Windows & Doors presented new additions to its horizontal sliding wall product line, which includes the thermally broken operable wall system (HSW.TS60) and the frameless glass wall system (HSW.92). Both alternatives are designed to create spaces that are functional and require a higher degree of customization, especially in the design of the stacking area. The HSW.92 is broadly used in applications such as storefronts where an all-glass system is required for unobstructed views of the exhibited items. In comparison, the HSW-TS60 offers superior weather resistance and protection for use in exterior applications.

The company also introduced FlexCounter, a window and folding door combination that creates stunning indoor-outdoor transitions, expanding interior spaces to patios, pools and terraces. The product is composed of a folding window system strip that runs along a recessed track mounted on a countertop and a full size folding door system that extends to cover the entire opening.

Weather Shield Windows & Doors is back at IBS after several years. The company marked its return by showcasing additions to several collections including the Contemporary Collection, Weather Shield Premium Coastal, the Premium Series, the Signature Series, the Aspire Series and the Visions Series.

“We’re thrilled to share our new products with attendees of Design and Construction Week,” said Dave Koester, brand manager for Weather Shield. “In the past two years, we have introduced several new product lines, innovations that yield great thermal performance and energy efficiency, and options that really deliver a ‘wow’ factor. People are going to be impressed when they see the latest from Weather Shield.”

It’s not just about windows and doors at IBS. It’s about everything for the home, and you will even see some celebrity sightings. LaCantina has a special celebrity appearance by Anthony Carrino, host of HGTV’s Cousins Undercover. Carrino met with attendees for a photo opportunity and to sign autographs this morning.

Also, ESPN Monday Night Football analyst Jon Gruden headlined the big IBS kickoff event.
