Natural Resources Canada, the government ministry responsible for enforcing the country’s energy efficiency standards, recently recognized two window companies as winners in its 2014 Energy Star Market Transformation Awards for advancing energy efficiency.

Centennial Windows & Doors of London, Ontario, was named manufacturer of the year of fenestration products, and Vinyl Window Designs of Woodbridge, Ontario, won two awards — promoter of the year and the award for sustained excellence.

“We’re extremely proud of that,” says Phil Lewin, vice president of marketing for Vinyl Window Designs. “We have a reputation in the industry for being leaders in promoting Energy Star and energy efficiency.”
Vinyl Window Designs also received the award for advocate of the year – specific product in 2012 and manufacturer of the year – specific product in 2006.

Centennial has won four Energy Star awards in the past – twice as manufacturer of the year of fenestration products, once as retailer of the year, and the 2008 prize for sustained excellence.
