Kevin Vilhauer, engineering manager of testing and certification at Milgard, is one of five newly elected members in the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) board of directors.

Vilhauer represents the primary residential product manufacturer in the fenestration category.

“This has been an especially exciting election because we ended up with four new people on the board,” says NFRC’s CEO, Jim Benney. “This indicates a growing appreciation for the value of our programs and an increasing desire among people of diverse backgrounds to be involved in developing them.”

“I am honored to represent window manufacturers on the NFRC Board of Directors,” says Vilhauer. “This is an exciting time in our industry when window, door and skylight energy performance, in the form of NFRC ratings, is becoming an important opportunity for energy savings of buildings. In addition, there are many major changes happening within NFRC and it is a privilege to be a part of the solutions.”

Vilhauer joined Milgard in 2000 and has managed the company’s product thermal certification and research and development for more than ten years. He has also been involved in NFRC for more than ten years and is the current chair for the Condensation Resistance Task Group and Subcommittee.
