Companies such as Wienig were at the MMPA event held last week in Lancaster, Pa.

The event, sponsored by the Moulding and Millwork Producers Association, featured two evenings of information exchange receptions with the latest industry technologies and products from suppliers.

Craig Young of TLC Moulding sees the event as important to the moulding industry.

“This year’s event gave our association members, and others in the industry, an opportunity to network with our peers and also gain some insight into some unique manufacturing operations outside our normal moulding operations,” he says. “It is always eye opening to see how other products are manufactured and how their production process’s flow to see what ideas may be able to be incorporated into our own facilities.”

The tours included an in-depth look at Weaber Inc., a hardwood lumber manufacturer. The tour covered two separate locations and Weaber’s distribution center. Additionally, attendees were able to participate in a tour of the Harley-Davidson factory in York, Pa.

The event concluded with speaker Robert D. Dietz, Ph.D., vice president of tax and market analysis for NAHB, spell out who gave an economic and housing outlook.
