Hurd Windows and Doors announced that due to recent job growth at its Superseal Windows and Doors manufacturing facility in Merrill, Wis., the city of Merrill has agreed to convert a $200,000 loan into a non-repayable development grant.

Under the terms of the agreement, Superseal was required to create 75 new jobs by December 15, 2014, so that the loan would be considered a development incentive with no repayment requirements. As of June 1, the company had surpassed its job creation goal, according to information from Hurd.

“The expansion of Superseal’s national and international availability since we moved to Merrill has certainly driven demand,” says Hurd vice president of administration and operations Scott Albers. “We have even exceeded our expectations, as Superseal’s sales are well above last year, as are our forecasts for the coming year.”

Hurd purchased Superseal Windows and Doors in January 2011.
