The Window and Door Manufacturers Association (WDMA) announced that Mike Wilson, environmental protection specialist for the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics &and EPA’s Lead Paint Renovation, Repair and Painting Program, has been added to the speaker line-up for the association’s upcoming Annual Technical Conference, to be held in Pittsburgh, Pa., at the Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel from Tuesday, June 17, to Thursday, June 19, 2014.

The presentation will look at EPA’s lead paint regulations covering replacement fenestration have been in place for four years yet controversial issues remain. EPA is also expected to expand the rule to cover all commercial and public buildings. This presentation by a senior EPA staff member will update participants on the latest developments of the regulations applicable to renovations & repair, as well as EPA’s plans for expanding the rule to cover all commercial and public buildings.

The program comprises of two-and-a-half days of technical sessions, table-top exhibits and networking. Other sessions will include reporting on current industry research, trends in manufacturing processes, procedures and emerging product technologies. Breakout sessions will focus on topics relevant to WDMA membership and the door and window industry. Also, there will be an off-site tour of some of the area’s major manufacturing facilities.
