The Department of Energy (DOE) has recognized several lines of window products as the Most Energy Efficient of Energy Star 2013.

Each year, the Environmental Protection agency (EPA) establishes criteria for specific product categories to earn the Most Efficient mark. Products that are recognized as Most Efficient must already qualify for the Energy Star label. Qualifications for windows differ depending on each Energy Star region.

MI Windows and Doors is one company that has windows which qualify for the program.

“We are proud that so many of our windows meet the new Most Energy Efficient 2013 criteria and expect that we will continue to be a leader in the industry and push the envelope in years to come with our energy efficient product lines,” says Mike DeSoto, chief operating officer.

Timeline Windows also has products that have earned the Most Efficient designation.

Timeline’s new casement, awning, studio picture and direct sets reach this premium platform by utilizing high-performance triple-pane glass technology, according to the company.

“Timeline’s recent design makeover makes this stringent performance level possible,” says a company statement. “The update is centralized around widening the glazing shelf area to an optimum size of 1-3/8 inches. Installing Cardinal Triple Glass Loe²/180 including the XL Edge stainless steel spacer system and an argon gas fill achieves Energy Star’s ultra-high energy efficient benchmark.”
