The Window and Door Manufacturers Association (WDMA) and the National Lumber and Building Materials Dealer Association (NLBMDA) have announced keynote speakers for their 2012 Spring Meeting and Legislative Conference. Keynote addresses will be given by Senator John Hoeven (R-ND) and Congressman Greg Walden (R-OR).

John Hoeven became North Dakota’s 22nd U.S. Senator in 2011, after serving 10 years as governor of the state. Through his positions on the Senate Appropriations, Energy and Agriculture Committees, Sen. Hoeven is working to implement the same kinds of policies on a national level that have helped to grow and diversify North Dakota’s economy and to create jobs on the state level, according to the announcement. Sen. Hoeven is an advocate of developing a national energy policy that encourages development of both traditional and renewable resources and reducing our budget deficits and national debt.

Rep. Greg Walden represents Oregon’s Second Congressional District and is member of House Republican leadership team. He serves as chairman of the House Republican Leadership and is a GOP deputy whip. Rep. Walden is also a senior member of the powerful House Energy and Commerce committee where he also serves as chairman of the Subcommittee on Communications and Technology. According to the announcement, Rep. Walden firmly believes that Congress must stop the wasteful spending of taxpayer money on government takeovers and new spending programs that don’t produce jobs, but leave our kids and grandkids with staggering debt.

The event is set to take place March 5-7 at the Marriott Washington in Washington, D.C.
