United States Senator Kirsten Gillibrand recently toured the Crystal Window & Door Systems primary production facility in College Point, Queens, New York. During her factory tour the senator viewed the company’s product display showroom, double- and triple-pane insulating glass fabrication, and the assembly of high-performance energy efficient window models.

The announcement noted that Senator Gillibrand met with Crystal president Thomas Chen and executive vice president Steve Chen and learned that company’s window sales are up slightly and it modestly increased its workforce this year. The senator also learned of the company’s photovoltaic solar energy business initiatives through its subsidiary Helios Energy Systems.

Senator Gillibrand is the junior senator from New York. Previously a member of the House of Representatives from an upstate New York district, in 2009 she was appointed by New York State Governor Paterson to fill the seat occupied by Hillary Clinton when the former first lady stepped down to become Secretary of State. This was Senator Gillibrand’s first visit to the Crystal factory.
