The Association of Millwork Distributors (AMD) will relocate its AMD 46th Annual Convention to Charlotte, N.C., to take place October 9-14, 2010. The AMD Convention was to take place in Nashville at the Gaylord Opryland; however, due to the residual effects of the May flooding in Nashville, the Opryland Resort would be unable to accommodate the AMD October event.

Industry manufacturers will display products and services at The Charlotte Convention Center and The Westin Charlotte will host AMD guest attendees.

“The city of Nashville and the Gaylord Opryland Resort are a favored venue with our members for this event, so the decision to relocate the AMD Annual Convention was not an easy one,” says Rosalie Leone, AMD chief executive officer. “Our prayers go out to the people of Nashville and AMD looks forward to returning to the city in the near future. I believe the AMD Leadership acted swiftly towards the association’s obligation to its members and exhibitors in its decision to relocate the convention to Charlotte.”

She adds that Charlotte was viewed as a potential site for AMD’s 2011 event.
