Window Companies Make the Ranks on Inc. 5000 List

Though the door and window industry has definitely seen its share of bad news in the recent year, some good news can be found, as evident in Inc. Magazine’s 5000 list of the fastest growing private companies in America.

Rosati Windows and Doors was ranked 2,029 overall and number 81 in the manufacturing category. The company reported 156.9 percent growth, with 2005 revenue of 102.6 million and 2008 revenue of 263.7 million. The company manufactures, installs and services vinyl replacement windows and sliding doors.

Wojan Window and Door in Charlevoix, Mich., was ranked 2,346. The company reported 130.5 percent growth, with 2005 revenue of 9.2 million and 2008 revenue of 21.3 million. The company manufactures energy-efficient commercial windows and sliding glass doors for multi-family housing, hotels, homes, offices and classrooms.

Not far behind Wojan was Northern Building Products in Teterboro, N.J., a manufacturer of commercial and heavy commercial fenestration products, which was ranked 2,444. The company reported 123.6 percent growth, with 2005 revenue of 11.6 million and 2008 revenue of 26 million.

“Our continued growth in the face of economic obstacles is a testament to our dedicated team members and clients who work together as a family to make each project successful,” says Northern Building Products president Robert Pecorella.

In the supplier category, J&S Machine in Ellsworth, Mich., was ranked 3,047. The company reported 89.6 percent growth with 2005 revenues at 1.2 million and 2008 revenues at 2.3 million. J&S Machine distributes metal fabrication equipment with one of its emphases being the door and window market.

Cambridge, Ohio-based Edgetech I.G. was ranked 4,715. The company reported 2005 revenue of $52.6 million, increasing to $62.9 million in 2008.

Not far behind Edgetech was Stiles Machinery based in Grand Rapids, Mich., coming in at number 4,864. The company reported 6.8 percent growth, with 2005 revenue of 153.1 million and 2008 revenue of 163.5 million. The company provides machinery for a variety of industries including doors and windows.

  1. I think INC Magazine misplaced a decimal point. Even in 2007 INC reported Rosati at about $20 million. Call Mike Rosati- I think he will set the story straight.
