Winchester Windows Celebrates 30 YearsOctober 11th, 2013 | Category: Industry News
Although the celebration of its 30th anniversary was a momentous occasion, Michael Sugrue, president of Winchester Industries, says the company looks at the celebration not as an ending spot but as a mile marker along the way.
“The future is bright,” he says. “Yes it has been rough, what the industry and the country has been through, but we have stayed profitable and debt free.”
Sugrue, along with Robert Weis and George Yuhasz, who started the company in 1983, are also pretty proud of the fact that the company has sold and installed two million windows which is in itself a reason to celebrate. Almost 100 people traveled to the company’s Bristol, Pa., facility to help them do just that. Those “friends of Winchester” in attendance included long-time vendors, dealers, current and former employees and politicians.
“We heard a lot of good heartfelt stories. It was just a great day,” says Sugrue.
“I am so proud of the fact that we make a great door and window product but we are also proud of the relationships we have made with dealers and vendors to make this work,” he adds. “There are people that walk up and say, ‘Thanks to you I was able to send my kids to college.’ That’s something you can’t put a dollar amount on. That’s why we wanted to celebrate with friends.”
