Republic Windows & Doors to Close Tomorrow, Paper Reports

According to the report, the company, which has been in business since 1965, is closing due to a cancellation of its line of credit by its main lender, Bank of America, “due to a severe downturn in business at the plant.”The story cites sales of new construction windows at $6 million for this year-down from $30 million at the height the construction boom. Sales of replacement windows, however, are still at around $38 million-down from a high of $40 million, according to the Tribune Two for the Money video .
At press time, officials at Republic had not responded to requests for comment.
