Pro-Line Expands in the United StatesApril 1st, 2013 by DWM Magazine
Pro-Line Automation, headquartered in Woodbridge, Ontario, announced today it will expand into the United States with a new location in Akron, Ohio. Pro-Line, a supplier of equipment for vinyl window manufacturing, will be joining forces with Todd Tolson and Tom Whitehead, who both have more than 20 years’ experience in the door and window industry. Does this perhaps signal that window companies will start buying again? That remains to be seen but Tolson did tell DWM magazine that companies are looking to be more efficient and machinery and equipment can help fill that need.
“The markets are getting better,” says Tolson. “I don’t know [that] it’s tremendously better but it is tremendous for technologies.”
“I think there are a lot of bright spots on the horizon,” he adds. “There is a light at the end of the tunnel and this time it isn’t a train.”
Regarding vinyl’s growth, Tolson adds that it all depends on how you want to look at it.
“There aren’t a lot of people adding new products but plenty of people looking to be more efficient with what they do,” he says.
He adds that there are many opportunities for vinyl and this includes its growth in the light commercial market.
“Some of the reasons you are seeing vinyl be used more in this market is because there weren’t a lot of aluminum products that had the thermal qualities you could get in vinyl,” says Tolson.
He says residential companies are definitely expanding into the light commercial market. “We are working with a company in Minnesota that is adding a light commercial twist to what they are doing now. That is where the growth will come.”
Martin Davis, vice president of sales for Pro-Line Automation, adds that he is excited about the new U.S. location.
“This new location is an exciting development for Pro-Line and will establish a sales and service point for our U.S.-based customers,” he says. “Having an established sales and service staff can only enhance our ability to support customers in the U.S. The feedback from our existing clients has been overwhelmingly positive with this latest development. We welcome Todd and Tom into our Pro-Line family.”
Whitehead adds, “We were very impressed with Pro-Line’s engineering and manufacturing capabilities in Toronto, and their ability to look for solutions to manufacturing issues is really what sealed the deal for us. We are very excited to tell the Pro-Line story to customers in the U.S.”
