The National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association says it looks forward to working with President Obama on the energy-efficient home improvement retrofit program (“Cash for Caulkers”).

“As the representative of over 6,000 building material dealers nationwide, we are pleased that the President has proposed a program that will create jobs in an industry composed mainly of small businesses and improve our nation’s energy efficiency,” says National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association president and chief executive officer Michael O’Brien. “We look forward to working with the Administration to craft a program that can be implemented by retail dealers large and small. Further, it is essential that any program be coupled with a low-cost financing mechanism to help consumers afford to make the necessary improvements.”
