Milgard to Close Chicago OperationsOctober 18th, 2011 by DWM Magazine
Milgard announced in a letter to its Chicago customers that it will be closing its Chicago operations over the next 60 days. New orders will be accepted up to Friday, October 21, 2011, according to the letter sent to customers on October 17.
“The extended slowdown in the new construction and replacement window channel has required us to evaluate our business strategy, manufacturing capacity and footprint. The adjustment to recent demand is a challenge for us all,” says Glenn Ziegler, regional general manager, Eastern region in the letter.
He adds that Milgard will continue to provide after-market warranty service which will be managed locally.
“We appreciate your loyalty and the opportunities that you have provided us over the years and will work closely with you during this closure. Your outside sales representative will be available to answer any questions,” says Ziegler.
