Mike Sugrue, previously vice president for Winchester Industries, was named president yesterday and the appointment went into effect immediately. Sugrue has been with the Saltsburg, Pa., based window manufacturer for more than 22 years and has served in a variety of roles including sales and sales management and operations. The two owners, Robert Weis and George Yuhasz, will continue to serve on the board but will turn the day-to-day duties over to Sugrue.
“They are passing the torch to me to take the company to the next level,” he says. I will be doing many of the same things [as when I was VP] but now the buck stops with me.”
He says he has an important role to fill and is very excited about the new venture.
“My most important role is to make sure that Winchester continues to service our dealers the best that we can,” says Sugrue. “We have had such a loyal group of dealers that we want that to continue and never take a step back.”
He adds that he is excited about the company’s future.
“We are moving forward as a healthy, vibrant and viable company,” he adds.
