March 14th, 2011 by DWM Magazine

Hurd Windows & Doors was named a 2010 Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year award winner. The company is one of seven Wisconsin companies who won one of this year’s awards, competing against 53 nominees. Nominated by the Medford Area Chamber Commerce, Hurd was given a special award for its “Local to Global Commitment.”

“Over the 91 year history of the brand, Hurd has committed itself to making as many local purchases as possible for raw materials,” says Hurd director of supply chain management Jeff Herman. “In addition to creating a significant number of local jobs, buying from other Wisconsin companies is part of our commitment to support and invest in the social fabric of our community.”

“Hurd has committed a record level of capital investment in a year where the residential housing market remains significantly depressed,” adds Medford Area Chamber of Commerce president/director Sue Emmerich. “This is a sign of Hurd’s aggressive management and optimism for growth of the wood window market.”
