Waltham, Mass.-based Harvey Building Products announced its promotion of Jim Barreira to president, making him the company’s first new president in 27 years. Outgoing president Alan Marlow will transition into the role of an advisor, remaining on the company’s board of directors.
“Jim has been instrumental in building our vinyl window business,” says Erik Jarnryd, co-chairman and CEO. “Our employees, customers and business partners enjoy working with Jim and value his leadership skills.”
“Jim’s blend of intelligence, integrity, collaboration and humor make him one of the industry’s best,” said Tom Bigony, co-chairman and CEO. “We are fortunate to place him at the helm of Harvey Building Products.”
Barreira joined Harvey in 1979, beginning his career in the Waltham branch warehouse followed by the Woburn, Mass., plant where he took on more responsibility in various manufacturing and administrative roles. In 1991, Barreira became vice president of manufacturing and the youngest officer in Harvey’s history. In 2005, he was promoted to executive vice president and general manager.
