Guardian DeWitt Float Plant Back in Production Following LeakFebruary 3rd, 2012 | Category: Industry News
Earlier this morning, employees at the DeWitt, Iowa, float glass facility of Guardian Industries “pulled the ribbon” and resumed production following a small glass leak on Monday, according to a company release.
The furnace leak occurred while Guardian DeWitt employees were completing routine maintenance, forced a temporary halt to glass production.
“Our employees are trained and prepared to manage issues like this,” says Roddy Greig, DeWitt plant manager, in the release. “It is a testament to their teamwork and determination–and a tremendous response from our local firefighters on Monday–that we are able to resume full production in such a short period of time.”
Greig says nobody was injured and that customers were unaffected by the leak. “It’s been a busy week for us, but it’s back to business as usual,” he says in the release.
