Fenestration Canada Meeting a Success; Plans for Win-door UnderwayJune 20th, 2014 by DWM Magazine
When Fenestration Canada held its Annual General Meeting last week in Winnipeg, the highlight may have been the fabricators roundtable, where door and window companies were able to discuss and exchange ideas regarding a variety of issues. But the association also tackled some other important business, such as how to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the Win-door show.
Fenestration Canada serves as sponsor of the annual event, scheduled this year for November 18-20 in Toronto.
The Win-door committee, led by chair Rick Pries of Veka, during the recent meeting to discuss special plans for the association’s 20th anniversary.
“We are planning on a party theme for the first night of the show, and we are bringing live entertainment,” says Pries. The group is called the Blus Brothers- a tribute band to the real Blues Brothers but with a twist. “One of the band members works in the door pre-hanging business,” he adds.
Pries says the committee is also looking at doing some more interactive type displays but the details are still being finalized.
Win-door will also honor the show founders and the exhibitors that have been with in attendance for the entire 20 years.
The committee also is asking help from the industry. It is looking for photos of past Win-door shows (particularly in the earlier days). If you have photos to share send them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
