Caldwell Manufacturing Company recognized its Alachua, Fla., distribution center team members for reaching a major safety milestone: 2000 days without a lost time accident. According to the company announcement, the Alachua facility has, in fact, never had a lost time accident since it went into operations.

Caldwell recognized employees at the Alachua plant with a certificate, gift cards and a celebratory luncheon. Pictured here are team members Debbie Jones, Wayne Sutton, and Karen Hopper.

“I feel no greater responsibility than to ensure the safety of our team,” says president and CEO Eric Mertz. “Everybody needs to work together to ensure we all go home in the same condition we came to work. When we all focus on safety, the other aspects of the business will take care of themselves.”

Dave Miller, director of supply chain, adds, “By focusing on safety, employees are much more productive and motivated to work safely if they have a clean place to work. Here at Caldwell, we think safety every day and we communicate safety every day.”
