BHMA Revises One Standard and Introduces Another
Feb 15th, 2011 | By DWM Mag | Category: Industry NewsThe Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association (BHMA) has announced the publication of ANSI/BHMA A156.36 – 2010 American National Standard for Auxiliary Locks.
This standard establishes requirements for auxiliary locks including commercial and residential deadbolts and includes dimensional criteria and five classifications of tests: operational, cycle, strength, security and finishes. This standard was formerly part of ANSI/BHMA A.156.5 for Auxiliary Locks and Associated Products.
The associated also announced the publication of ANSI/BHMA A156.23 – 2010 American National Standard for Electromagnetic Locks. This product is used in many applications to secure and release doors including access control.
This standard establishes requirements for electromagnetic locks and includes cyclical, dynamic, operational, strength and finish tests. This is a revision to the 2004 standard.
