Windsor Mill Introduces New Three-Coat Priming Systems

To create a better product for contractors and homeowners alike, Windsor Mill, Windsor, Calif., has added an additional third coat to its DuraPrime™ painting system, according to Craig Flynn, vice president of sales and marketing for Windsor Mill.

"The new three-coat system will increase protection, improve performance and eliminate blocking in our coating system. Previously, we used a two-coat system. The new system is just an example of how Windsor Mill strives to offer customers the best product possible," said Flynn.

The DuraPrime painting system is a proprietary 100-percent acrylic exterior latex system injected with a preservative to protect against mildew and fungal decay and applied to the WindsorONE™ line of boards and specialty boards. This new anti-blocking three-coat DuraPrime will be applied to all WindsorONE product currently shipping from the company's California and Virginia plants.

(Note: Windsor Mill will continue to package with the slip-sheeting for the short-term, the company is developing a bottom protection piece to minimize damage and "grime" on the back of the bottom layer of boards from forklift damage and/or grease.)
