TruSeal Spacer System Passes European Standards Testing

TruSeal Technologies of Beachwood, Ohio, has announced that its warm-edge flexible spacer system, DuraSeal, has passed the requirements outlined by European testing standards EN1279-2, 3 and 6 according to the final report by Dutch test institute TNO-TPD. The European standard exposes insulating glass (IG) units to a series of accelerated tests using temperature, moisture and ultraviolet light.

The spacer system for IG units, dual sealed with polysulfide, takes optimum advantage of laminates and adhesives to reduce thermal conductivity. In addition, the flexibility of DuraSeal's patented design allows window manufacturers to produce both standard and specialty windows with a single spacer system, according to the company.

"By obtaining certification, TruSeal is once again proving itself one of the foremost manufacturers of IG flexible spacer systems in the world," said August Coppola, president.
