Therma-Tru President and CEO Announces Retirement

Therma-Tru president and chief executive officer (CEO) Carl B. Hedlund has announced his intent to retire at the end of 2007, after nearly seven years with the company. During his tenure, Hedlund led the company through its transition from a family-owned business to its current position within Fortune Brands Inc., a Fortune 500 company.

"While we are happy for Carl, he will be missed. He was a major contributor to the success, growth and evolution of Therma-Tru," says Rich Forbes, president and CEO of Fortune Brands Home and Hardware. "Carl has been instrumental in growing Therma-Tru's retail and national pro-dealer businesses, driving the evolution of the company's fiberglass material conversion strategy within the industry, adapting to the rigors of being part of a publicly-held company, and building a strong and capable leadership team."

An external search has been initiated for a successor. Between now and the end of the year, Hedlund will remain in his role and is committed to provide a smooth and consistent transition to the new leader.

"My announcement is consistent with my long-term personal goals and aspirations," says Hedlund. "I'm looking forward to spending more time with my family while pursuing my interests in community service, philanthropy and travel."
