Ken Silverman to Leave Silver Line Building Products Corp.; Randy Iles Named President and CEO

Andersen Corp. of Bayport, Minn., announced this week that Kenneth Silverman, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of its subsidiary, Silver Line Building Products Corp, is leaving the business to pursue a new business venture in private equity and real estate development. Silver Line, the largest vinyl window manufacturer in North America, was acquired by Andersen Corp. earlier this year.

"I know this was a difficult decision for Silverman because he cares very deeply about the continued success of Silver Line," said Jim Humphrey, president and CEO of Andersen Corp. "Yet he is confident that Silver Line is positioned for continued growth as part of the Andersen enterprise and that now is the right time to make this transition. We all wish him the very best in his new business venture and there is no doubt he will build it with the same desire to win that motivated his success at Silver Line."

"I joined my family's business 33 years ago with a dream of it becoming the largest window manufacturer in the country," said Silverman. "My decision ensures the next step in the growth of Silver Line, and the best path for continued growth has been taken by becoming part of Andersen Corp. I was able to accomplish my goal."

Randy Iles, currently executive vice president at Silver Line will succeed Silverman as president and CEO. Iles joined the company in July 2006 from Kimball International, where he served as corporate vice president and general manager. Prior to that, he spent 11 years at Pella Corp. in a variety of leadership roles including president and chief operating officer of Pella's entry systems division. Iles also spent 16 years with Armstrong World Industries in a variety of marketing, national sales and general management roles.

"Iles' broad experience at both the strategic and operational levels make him an excellent fit to lead the next era of growth at Silver Line," said Humphrey.

"It's an honor to grab the baton from a leader with so much passion and desire to win. I am committed to leading Silver Line with the same sense of purpose that has made the company as successful as it is today," said Iles.
