Saint-Gobain Corp. Commemorates Workplace Health and Safety

Saint-Gobain Corp. and Canadian-based businesses of Compagnie de Saint-Gobain of France marked October 28th as the first Saint-Gobain international day of health and safety. Worldwide, more than 172,000 of the company's employees in 46 countries united in recognition of the importance of health and safety in the workplace, according to the company.

"Saint-Gobain is committed to building a world-class culture, including an unwavering emphasis on health and safety for every employee," said Jean-Francois Phelizon, president and CEO of Saint-Gobain Corp.

Each location participated in a variety of activities such as ergonomic training and education, on-site eye exams, fire extinguisher training, blood pressure readings and blood drives. To further instill a culture of employee wellness, each facility instituted a new company-issued charter for health, safety and the environment. Additionally, the day featured a safety video presentation and a review of every location's environment, health and safety action plan.
