Promote Window Safety Week and Educate the Public Regarding Window Falls

This week (April 18-24) is Window Safety Week and many industry groups are working together to promote public awareness of window safety. The initiative, now in its fifth year, is sponsored by the National Safety Council (NSC) in conjunction with the American Architectural Manufacturers Association, the Window and Door Manufacturers Association and the Screen Manufacturers Association.

The campaign emphasizes that while simple measures can prevent children from falling from open windows, those measures should not compromise a window's function as means of egress during a fire, according to AAMA.

Visit the NSC website at http://www.nsc.org/aware/window/index.htm for more information regarding window safety and Window Safety Week.
