PPI Awarded First Amesbury Group Lean Enterprise Award

Todd Betterley, general manager of PPI, received the award from Amesbury Group president Rich Koopmann.

Amesbury Group has announced that on August 2, 2006, Plastic Profiles-PPI was awarded the first Lean Enterprise Award for Amesbury Group.

The Lean Enterprise Award is presented to the Amesbury Group division that has demonstrated the best practical application of Lean principles, as well as the achievement of key Lean metrics in support of business objectives. Each Amesbury Group general manager was required to present their division's results in safety, operating cash flow, cost reductions and customer service. Also included in their presentations, and an award criterion, was the practical and effective implementation of "5-S" principles.

According to Peter Lariviere, vice president of operations, all divisions demonstrated significant continued improvement, and PPI was presented the award for the first half of 2006. All Amesbury Group divisions will be eligible for the year-end award, which will be presented to the division which demonstrates the best improvement in the above categories by 2006 year-end.
